INTERLAKEN, SWITZERLAND
Approximate course taken. Mirror dinghies do not have a particularly good angle of attack when beating windward |
Kitchen window view this morning |
Rose early as the boat was already rigged and I was keen to get on the water. It was a light breeze, building so that at the later part of the trip beating up to the head of the lake I was sitting on the gunnel, hiking slightly creaming along. Didn't want to be too long on the water as we had a family outing planned.
Roman made Audrey a card |
Returned after a couple of hours to find the family still rising and Audrey feeling quite unwell, eventually throwing up meaning a day at camp and a day of juggling glucose and keynotes. Thankfully she came right by the end of the day.
Invited for a drink by our lovely Swiss neighbours, Miriam and Helen and then later, when the weather deteriorated, it started raining they joined us in the Giantavan for a demonstration of the Lego McDonalds and a crash course in Minecraft which was great fun. Helen and Miriam are particularly well travelled and enthused with the children their learning other languages which we appreciated.
These R Class sailors - just don't appreciate sailing a 60's classic. What's wrong with pointing low more time to appreciate the view :)
ReplyDeleteIndeed, like sailing, whats the rush?
ReplyDeleteFunny getting so much pleasure from this little Mirror Dinghy, so glad we bought/brought it as staying lakeside without a boat would have killed me.
