326. Premature

Munich

Fyfe spent the morning on the piano
My Mum arrives today so the plan was to get into Munich in good time and explore then out to the airport to meet her at six. Key words for the astute reading that sentence are good time  and six.

The drive up to Munich was fantastic, past many beautiful lakes with many boats sailing. Oh the itch....

Arrived Munich city centre as one does when one enters Munich into the GPS, our usual tactic, and free parked on the leafy street as it was thirty two degrees centigrade. Didn't have a lot of time as flight arrived at six so after a brief wander pressed on arriving at six twenty and at six thirty realised that we had arrived at her departure time - duffer. Her flight arrived at seven forty. Looking at the GPS there was a rest area by a river eight minutes drive away so headed for that to eat our cheap, Giantavan oven cooked, supermarket pizzas that we had brought with us. After missing the turnoff we arrived only to find that it was a motorway lay-by, full of trucks, the river fenced off with a line of lorry drivers using the fence as a urinal. By the time we got back to terminal two, at our cold pizzas in the short term car park we were perfectly on time.

Not much of a snap but AP on board.
Roman found his pen
and wanted explanations.
A short wait (a lifetime for those under twelve) and out scooted the AP, beaming and instantly mobbed by four delighted, excited, shouting, kids - brilliant. Never thought to take a snap as we were equally excited to see her. Phoned the hotel to tell them that we would be arriving at eleven only to be told that the latest was ten. When he realised that she was a long term guest, nothing was a problem and we got a tremendous welcome when we arrived a bit after eleven pm though the children were gutted as they had intended to satisfy themselves that Grandma's room was up to scratch and explore the environs.
