Versailes
Headed off later in the day for Versailles as it is not that far from camp. Discovered that the palace closed at six but it was a cold and clear evening and the gardens were to remain open, free entry, till seven.
Not a bad park |
The Palace is extensive |
Former administration buildings across the way |
Through the gold gates into this exquisiteness |
Walk round the left of the Palace to the gardens. This is looking from the gardens |
Three major fountains down to the lake |
Raven or Rook, maybe a Jackdaw, possibly a crow? |
Fountain of Latona |
Apollon Fountain looking toward the Grand Canal |
Bassin de Flore (1672-1679) |
Amazing moat to give a clear view from the Palace |
