Grosser-Aletschgletscher - Switzerland
Two lifts from Fiesch to see into the Glacier |
At camp, the manager recommended the Eggishorn Gondola to view the Grosser-Aletschgletscher (glacier), the biggest/longest in Europe. Twenty three kilometers long and up to nine hundred and forty meters thick. The stripes are where the four contributing glaciers meet. Two cable cars to 2869 meters altitude.
The gondola was huge. 26ºC at the bottom |
Up over the trees, from the village ....... |

ReplyDeleteLovely to see a photo of you all together. We used to go up the Jungfraujoch as children. My Dad went to boarding school near there as a 5 year old! We used to stay in Lauterbrunnen I think, seem to remember lots of slugs & some gorgeous sweets that were quite large red sweets with yellow in the middle I think!
ReplyDeleteYou have quite a history. FB tells me you are an RAF baby?
