383. Europe's Drawing Room

Venice

Put the awning up this morning and got set up. There is a tap and a drain so we are fully reticulated which is always a joy as opposed to collecting water forty litres at a time in the rolling barrel and emptying it forty litres at a time in the two wheelie waste tanks. Not quite fully reticulated, I still need to empty the toilet cartridge once a day, not a biggie.

Drove to the ferry as we realised that our return would probably be after dark. The tickets proved to be a bit of a shock at fifteen euro each, ninety in total.
Roman was absolutely stoked.
We sat just under the bridge at the front for perfect views
on this lovely warm day
The ferry was quite substantial.
Heading along the coast toward the Lido Penisula
Views of Venice in the distance
Audrey and Fyfe It's too bright!
I could see lots of work going on for the massive Venice Barrier
project due to be complete in 2022. A massive undertaking
but will be brilliant for saving Venice

Love the elegant and gracious limo taxis
Powered by petrol V8s
Venice's iconic skyline
The channels are dredged and quite tight the whole way

Would love to explore all these side canals

Box jellyfish, of which, for some reason, Audrey knew all about.
They are about a hand span long and get along at
about a foot every three seconds
Ponte della Paglia
The same shot of the chiesa di San Giorgio dei Greci

From the same bridge
We stayed up here for ages watching all the comings and goings

Rubbish boat and ambulance

Looking the other way from the Pointe di Rialto
Most of the traffic including taxis heading
down the small canal on the right

Venetian glas abounded

St Marks square at night on our way home
This is all we achieved!
