Rome
As the city of Rome is only twenty seven kilometres away we decided to go for a reconnoitre by Disco to have a look around (the children keen as they wanted to listen to more of The Half Blood Prince - audio book. The Disco towers above the local traffic so a good view is had by all however there is absolutely no where to park so we kept rolling. Our route was basically camp to Colosseum. round the Palatine Museum on Palatine Hill, to and around Vatican City then back through for more sights.
Unlike the map above copied late at night when there is little traffic, it took hours. Eventually we went into a tiny parking building where little cars are racked on the walls whereupon a very friendly ticket tout found us as and tried hard to sell us a Vatican tour for a lot of money. I think we will train in tomorrow and do the double decker, hop on, hop off, bus tour.
