3. Fish, Supermarket and Nelson

Great Yarmouth

The need for a supermarket drew us out onto the road. Delayed start while everyone got going had the kids meet a lovely fisherman setting up for the day while I watched the boats.
Tacking up the River Yare

Another ride on the chain ferry. Campsite in the background
Roman was very impressed with the chair.
Turned out he was also an instructor.  Very interesting, worms, maggots (red) and meal to "seed the river".  Children delighted when he caught a small eel.

First day of sun was a treat. Lovely drive through the lower broads took us to a Tesco's for a big shop. We then went down to the beach front where the tackiness appalled Jacqueline and me and delighted the children.  Further on we walked on the lovely sandy beach though cold.
Stumbled upon the Nelson Memorial Column in the industrial zone when we went to look at the offshore wind energy assembly area.

Home for dinner and Chocolate Brownies by Fyfe.

Great family video chat with Stephen & Lynda Phennah.
