412. Grooved

Pompei

The App
Two thirds of the family focused on Halloween, one third on the ruins of Pompei. Two thirds found an exciting Google game on the Google home screen. If you don't know, the drawing on the Google home screen changes daily and animates if you click it. This gets around our time limits as the children can play on the school or library logins on their laptops. Two thirds discovered they could play each other (a Google first).

One third of us then coerced the majority to get out and visit the dumb boring stupid Roman ruins. The entrance to the ruins of Pompei is immediately across the road and all six of us were stunned. I had downloaded a guide on my phone and we have a splitter so that five can listen at once on headphones. In the end it was Jacqueline, Iris and I that were listening. You click on each place for a very good three to five minute description.

Like everyone, I love the hand cart wheel ruts.
It would take hundreds of years to wear ruts like this into stone

Temple of Vespasian, also referred to as the Sanctuary of the Genius of Augustus,
as more archaeologists believe it was dedicated to Augustus, rather than Vespasian
Couldn't find any info on this - getting dark

Beautiful relics in the museum...

Jacqueline walked the children to the supermarket for a halloween shop. On their return they dressed for the occasion and hid bags of sweets for each other than hunted. More Pit followed.
