236. VE Day

Avignon

Audrey and Roman
Fyfe
VE Day today so a holiday for me and for the transport firm hopefully delivering the new rear bumper assembly sometime very soon. Got the family out on the bikes for the first time in a very long time.

Iris
There is a local foot ferry a short hop up the river so that was enough to get Roman out. Once we got to the ferry we managed to coerce Roman into keeping biking North along the banks of the Rhone. At one place a meanie land owner had piled tree stumps on the path either side of his property so we and everybody else had to lift our bikes across, If I were a local I would certainly go back with the Disco and tow the path clear.

Queue wasn't bad initially
Biking back, the weather was turning inclement so there was a long queue for the ferry which only carries fifty people so we fobbed Roman off with promises that we failed to keep. Will go back tomorrow as there won't be crowds on a normal week day.

Weather looking promising for a sail tomorrow.
