242. Looking the other way

Villecroze - Provence

Supermarket
We left an impression

Finally got away from Avignon after twenty days. Had hoped to find a site near Aix-en- Provence but there weren't any sites suitable for the Giantavan. Avoided tolls and motorways and travelled through wonderful small towns though the speed control bumps are tedious for both us and those following.

Had barely left the camp site when we stopped at a large supermarket for an hour, J adamant that it was a priority. It does mean that we run late in the day for our arrival. Gave me the chance to feed the kids and clean the Disco.

Arrived at the camp only to be told it was closed. This is always the fear when arriving late. When I explained that we had booked and paid on Pitchup he changed his tone and lead us up through the deserted campsite, opening a basic cabin for ablutions.

On arrival at the site the man was waiting so rather than referring to the compass app on my phone, I asked him which way north was. Always a mistake, they never know. We are now sited, facing mostly away from the sun but looking downhill.

    1. Indeed, the locker was a little low once on the road so have inserted, with trepidation, an extra piece of ply under each load point. I can watch the front corner of the Giantavan when driving and it is amazing how much the drawbar springs.
