241. Nicked

Avignon

The forecast was for rain and they were right. Woke to the sound of heavy rain and when I went to put the kettle on in the awning the water was starting to seep in. Went for my shower then afterwards, in Jandals, dug little drainage channels in the hard ground with an off-cut of plywood to divert the water coming off the concrete driveway beside us. Eventually camp in wet and cold, it being an eight degree day which is a shock to the system.

The longboat was filling half the awning so got repurposed, sitting on plywood offcuts, as a walkway through the awning. It will be a delight soaked to throw out tomorrow before we depart. Unfortunately, as we were lifting everything I did not notice that the portable fridge transformer was drowning so that will be a challenge to replace, easy in Christchurch, not so easy here.

Irritatingly, someone has nicked Teasels oars which is disappointing as they were nice and the children particularly enjoy rowing.
